Passive income stream

I've been super busy for the psat couple of years finishing my masters and sitting for the CPA exam. I'm now going to have quite a bit more flexible time than I have in the past.

I've been thinking about ways to use that time to accomplish my financial goals. So I've been brainstorming ways to use my time to create passive or semi passive income streams. I'm using this post to record my brainstorming.

  • Investment real estate - fixer ups
  • Website driving ad revenue - I'm not sure i have the tior passion for this one
  • Some sort of funny quotes (been done but doesn't mean it won't work)
  • Financial blog
  • Facebook app
  • Iphone/android app

It's not a very long list just yet...

I think the app market is the best use of my skills. I have a background in software that i'd need to brush up on, which would actually make me more marketable in general. It is something I enjoy doing and would have minimal costs to get started.

First thing to find out is how much it would cost to start in the app environment. Is there fee for the SDK? Would i need to buy other technologies?

Just recording my brainstorming and open to other thoughts.

One thought is an ISBN scanner for books to build a catalog of what you own. Can do the same for CD's, Movies etc.

Red laser licenses their tech to do the scan. Would need to look at getting a database to do lookups tho

Second idea for an app, a time value of money app that goes in all directinos b/c i haven't found one that works for every situation I've come across.

Could tweak for the peresonal finance market to create functions that are designed for cars, homes etc
