It's not a read for the faint of heart; there are poly-syllabic words and in copious quantities. However the essay does a great job of breaking down some fundamental principles into a format that you can absorb. This is perfect if you've known you have the right to defend yourself, but you could never quite explain why it felt so "right" to you.
It was written in the 90s so some of the facts on laws are outdated now.
